May 2007 - I first saw DJ BoBo on the semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest,I have listened to the song before and considered it my favourite in the contest but I didn't know who was singing it or anything about it.I just loved the voice saying "I am a vampire I'm a slave..." and couldnt get the song out of my head for days.I was listening to it all day.Then it was the day the semifinal was taking place so we where all in front of the TV watching the programm,I was waiting to see who was singing my favourite song of that period.I had no idea in what place he would come out on stage...we listened to the first 7 songs..and then...Vampires were alive...DJ BoBo was the 8th!The 8...my favourite number.."What a coincindence" i thought...
I have to be honest..my first impression was "DJ BoBo?What a strange name?" then I remember noticing the composer's names 'Rene Baumann and Axel Breitung' back then I had no idea Rene Baumann and DJ BoBo was the same person.I didnt watch all the semifinal that night I wasnt waiting for the results...the next morning I was in great agony to find out if the song had passed through the semifinal...and I was strangely very sad when i found out it didnt.The next hour I was searching for DJ BoBo on the internet because i wanted to find out more about him.I remember myself listening to his song on youtube everyday for hours,reading his biography,searching for pictures...I started becoming a fan...something very strange for me...I was never a real fan of an artist before...and never thought i would become one...I always thought "How can they admire someone so much when they do not even know them?"
It was something in Rene Baumann that made me admire him so much!Now I believe that its the combination he has!He is a great person,a very proffessional and great performer combined with my favourite voice to hear!Yes If you ask me, he has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard.Althought only the voice couldnt be enough to convinve me to become a fan...I am the kind of person who couldnt listen to a singer even if they had the most beautiful song,if I don't like their character.For me its 55% for the character and 45% for the songs and the voice!But DJ BoBo,Rene Baumann also has the Character!And thats enough for me!I admire him!He is a shining star!A musical genius that doesnt smoke,drink and of course doesnt need drugs in order to come up on stage and give a great concert,all these things many artists need to take drugs to do,he does them because he has it inside him!Thats a real star!I was very lucky to meet him,talk with him and visit one of his concerts.He was perfect!Much Respect to DJ BoBo.Τhank you Rene for who you are!
